    Siloam Mission CEO John Mohan, along with eight other Winnipeg, Manitoba, community leaders, met with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a 90-minute private meeting on Wednesday, August 6. The topic of discussion was Harper’s new federal drug and youth awareness campaign targeted at parents. (Slideshow)

  • NTS, YouthFront to offer summer hybrid course in youth spirituality and formation in experiential environment
    This summer, Nazarene Theological Seminary partnered with YouthFront to offer an intensive class in youth spirituality. The class—Youth Spirituality and Formation in Experiential Environments—incorporated a one week intensive at YouthFront's South Camp, and four weeks of online reflection to allow students an opportunity to apply their new knowledge in their own ministry setting.   • Next CLT conference call this Friday
    In July, Continuing Lay Training sponsored a conference call addressing the purpose of Sunday School. The call was well attended and there has been a multitude of requests for similar calls. In response, the next call will be Friday, August 22.

  • Asia-Pacific media seminar highlights the art of worship
    World Mission Communications-Asia-Pacific conducted a seminar on the use of audio-visual media in worship Saturday, August 17, at the regional communication center in Manila, Philippines. One focus of the seminar was to train the participants using only free or open-source software so churches with limited resources would be able to put the training into practice.

  • NNU business professor named to CLEP College Board
    Northwest Nazarene University’s Jeffrey P. Lineman, professor of business, has been named to the Test Development Committee responsible for guiding the content and policies of the College Board’s College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) Principles of Management exam.
